How do I share my Device Access with other people?
You need to long press on the device to access the device settings. On the top right corner you will see the share button, which will show you all your Facebook friends who have the Pert. Select the users who need the access and click update. Now they will be able to access the device from any where in the world.

How do I change the name, icon and settings for a Pert?
You generally manage settings for your Pert upon initial setup, but you can always go back and change the Pert name, icon, color and other configurations anytime. Just long press on the Pert  and the settings screen will open. You can adjust the settings there.

How do I use the lock screen to Control Pert in iPhone?

All your favourite switches can be accessed from lock screen without opening the app.

Step 1. Make sure the Control Center in accessing on Lock Screen. (Settings-> Control Center-> Access on Lock Screen On)

Step 2. Pull the Control Center down and click edit button

Step 3. Search for Pert app and click + icon and click Done on top right.

You will know able to access all your favourite switches from the lock screen

What is the purpose of rules?
Rules are like alarms in your mobile phone. If you want to switch on or switch off any load at any time you can easily create a rule for that load.
Let’s say you want switch off your TV every weekday at 11:00PM,  you need to create a rule for the same. Rules can be created with a high degree of flexibility and across several parameters.
Is it possible to create the rules remotely?
Yes, of course! Even if you are not at home you can easily create and set up rules. But the router at your home should have internet.
How accurate is the energy data you collect?
The Pert app displays power costs and environmental impact, averaged over time, based on your usage. The power readouts are accurate within +/-5{941e78304347d125763be1edc3be533f8c4d2c469489871092c107f744fbd8e6}. Pert uses a preset rate for the cost of electricity based on the average for your geographic region, but it may not match exactly with the unit rate you are charged by your utility company.
Can I get access to the the power monitor data remotely?
Yes, it is possible to access the data remotely.
How many dimming nodes are available in Pert?
Every node in Pert can be dimmable. But the load should be a dimmable load.
What are dimmable and non-dimmable loads?
Dimmable Loads: Sealing Fans, Dimmable LED lights, Incandescent lamps.
Non Dimmable Loads: CFL lights, Tube Lights, Non dimmable LED lights, and other Home Appliances (TV, Iron box, Mobile chargers etc…).
Will my fan regulator work with Pert?
Yes, your fan regulator will work with Pert; Along with real time synchronization between manual dimming(regulator dimming) and dimming from the mobile app. Fan regulator dimming will also reflect in the mobile application.
What happen if i dim a non-dimmable load?
The effect will depend on the load. Normally lights will flicker. Other appliances will switch off or short circuit. This should generally be avoided as dimming non-dimmable loads will affect the life of appliances.

Yes, it is possible to switch off physical switches. But the load states will change. The state of the physical switch will not change.
If the router is switched off. Is it possible to control the appliances connected to PERT?
Yes, you will be able to use Physical switches.
Is it possible to control the appliances remotely when internet is not working in the area where PERT is installed?
 No, it is not possible. To remotely operate and control appliances connected to PERT internet is mandatory. To control locally internet is not mandatory but Wi-Fi should work. 

What happens to the appliances if the manual switch is on when the main is power off?
The previous states (before the power was cut) will retain and the same will also same reflect on the mobile app.
Will I need to change my Switchboard?
No, Pert is fully retrofittable, it goes inside your existing switch board.
How many Perts do I need to buy for my home?
You would need a Pert for every switchboard you want to automate. If you have 3 switchboards at your home that you think should be enabled, then you would need to install 3 Perts.
How do i setup Pert?

 

Step 1. Check the wifi signal strength at the switch board, signal strength should greater than 75{941e78304347d125763be1edc3be533f8c4d2c469489871092c107f744fbd8e6}. If it is less than 75{941e78304347d125763be1edc3be533f8c4d2c469489871092c107f744fbd8e6} then, adjust the router location, so that pert can get maximum signal strength.

Step 2. Switch off the MCB of the switch board in the main Panel board. Open the switchboard top cover. Remove all the connections to the switches and label them with numbers based on switches position and numbers. Identify and separate the common line and neutral in the switchboard.

Step 3. Open the PERT enclosure top cover.  Connect line and neutral to the input connectors. Connect all loads wires to the output connectors based on previous labels. The output numbers (connector) should match with previous switches connections numbers.

Step 4. Remove the existing fan regulator, replace with PERT regulator and close the regulator back cover. Fix the fan regulator tightly to the switch board.

Step 5. Connect the 10 pin cable wires individually to the switches based on previous switch sequence. Connect the ground in the switch board in place of common line in the switch board.

Step 6. Close the PERT enclosure and fit the pert properly inside the switch board. Verify all the connections and close the switch board.

Pert Configuration – Android

Step 1. Download the PERT APP. Get the Pert into config mode, by switching any switch on/off 7 times in 3 seconds.

Step 2. Click on the hamburger icon on the app and click config.

Step 3. Select the network to be connected to the Pert and enter the wifi network password and click on connect Pert.

Step 4. Go the home screen to see your newly configured Pert with “unknown” name. You can edit the name and configure the pert switches by clicking the overflow menu(3 dots ) and click edit.

Step 5. Enter the Device name, password, privacy status and the dimmer settings and click on configure

 

Pert Configuration – IOS

Step 1. Download the PERT APP. Get the Pert into config mode, by switching any switch on/off 7 times in 3 seconds.

Step 2. Pert will become wifi source with name Pert 5xxxxx.

Step 3. Go to the wifi setting on your phone and select pert wifi name Pert 5xxxxx

Step 4. Click on the menu icon on the app and click wifi config.

Step 3. Select the network from down or enter the Wifi SSID of your router to be connected to the Pert and enter the wifi network password and click on connect Pert.

Step 4. Go the home screen to see your newly configured Pert with “unknown” name. You can edit the name and configure the pert switches by long clicking on the device

Step 5. Enter the Device name, password, privacy status and the dimmer settings and click on done.

Will I need to have Internet access to run Pert?
No. Pert works offline, you just need a wifi router where both the app the pert is connected to the same network. But if you want to control Pert from outside the house, you need to have internet on your phone and the home network
Will I need to be in the vicinity to Run Pert?
 No. You don’t need to be in the vicinity of the installed Pert. You can control it from anywhere in the world. 
Will there be a fee for the Pert Service?
No. The Pert software and all future updates will be free.
Will the Pert App run on my Phone?
Yes, almost certainly. Currently we have a setup and control app for both iOS and Android.
Is there an API where I can access your service for my device, or conversely, control my device using my own software?
Not at this time, but this is planned for later versions of the software.
Will my existing Physical switches work?
Yes, of course! Your existing Physical switches will still work in-sync with the Mobile App.
What is the maximum load capacity of PERT?
The maximum load capacity of PERT is 1500W.

I want to control loads connected to an inverter and main power in a single switchboard. Is it possible with a single PERT in a switch board?
 No, it is not possible. Because the input should be common. Pert cannot drive different sources. It is either inverter or main power.
